Mugged by Uncertainty
One of the things I have found most interesting, most challenging, and most rewarding about the entrepreneurial path is that it has exposed buried negative thought patterns.
The most intense has been my discomfort with the uncertainty of life outside a traditional 9 to 5 job.
If you can’t handle uncertainty:
- you will be challenged to commit in relationships
- you will be terrified by any professional path that does not guarantee specific financial and other results day in and day out
The more predictable path may be right for many people, but it slams the door shut on certain opportunities.
Uncertainty is an ever-present fact in investing. There is always a lack of clarity when you deploy capital. This type of uncertainty doesn’t trouble me much–and never really did.
Here’s a quote from Eckhart Tolle on this, “When you become comfortable with uncertainty, infinite possibilities open up in your life.”
So here’s to embracing uncertainty and the possibilities that open up when you get comfortable in that zone….
